No matter what size or breed of dog you have, dogs love to camp at Critter Camp! We offer four different areas for our dog campers. Based upon their personality and temperament, we will assign them to an area that best meets their needs.

All our campers are monitored throughout the day, we pay particular attention to eating habits, elimination habits, signs of stress or illness, and that they are comfortable and having a good time.

Each camper has a kennel card posted on their kennel with their name, feeding instructions, special needs, etc. This allows our staff to best meet the needs of each camper. Each kennel comes with a pallet to provide an area for bedding, keeping it off the concrete floor. Stainless steel dishes, blankets and food are provided, but you are welcome to bring items from home such as their bed, blanket or food.  All indoor kennel areas are heated and air conditioned for comfort.

For our campers who eat our food, we feed NutriSource Lamb and Rice Adult, a high quality dog food twice per day. For those who want to bring their own food, please bring it in a plastic sealed container. For those campers who are on a special diet of canned food or something other than dry dog food, there is a small charge of 25 cents per feeding.

We will administer medications per doctor's instructions, please provide the information when you check in your pet. There is a small charge of 25 cents for each dosage (1 dosage can be multiple pills administered). For example: a dog taking 3 pills in the morning and 1 pill in the evening, you will be charged 50 cents per day (25 cents per dosage).

Vaccination Requirements

Critter Camp is licensed yearly by the State of Iowa. We require the following vaccinations to board, groom or train with us: Distemper Combination and Rabies (state required) and Bordetella, also known as kennel cough (camp required). At our 2010 & 2011 state inspection, our camper's files were 100 percent up to date on vaccinations and noted as "Excellent records and facility" by the inspector. We strive very hard at Critter Camp to accomplish this achievement. Our staff will gladly discuss any questions you have about vaccination requirements or if your pet's vaccinations are current. We are here to help you.

BOARDING RATES

One Dog/One Kennel: $15.00 per night

Two Dogs/One Kennel/Same Family: $25.00 per night

Three Dogs/One Kennel/Same Family: $33.00 per night

Medications or diets requiring special preparation $0.25 per dose or meal

Dog Daycare: $7.00

Puppy Park Rates: $5.00 for 15 minutes (See “Other Services” for more info)
Rent A Bed: $5.00 per stay
Long term boarding discounts are available.

MAKING RESERVATIONS

When making reservations, we require specific drop off and pick up times. A 24 hour notice is needed to cancel reservations. If we do not get the 24 hour notice, the cancellation will be documented in the camper/owner’s file.

CHECK IN

First time customers maybe required to pay in advance at check in. Established customers will pay at check out. Campers will not be released back to the owner until payment is made.

CHECK OUT

The check out time is 2:00 pm. Any camper leaving after 2 pm will be charged for that night (similar to a hotel check out policy). If a camper is picked up after the day agreed on, the camper(s) may have to be moved from his/her run.
